Commissioner Steven Aderholt

Commissioner Aderholt is a lifelong resident of Walker County. Born in the former Peoples Hospital downtown, he was raised in the Pineywoods community, and now resides in Sumiton with his wife Jessica who is the head softball coach and physical education teacher at Sumiton Christian, where their children also attend. They are also members of the Sumiton Church of God. 

After Attending Curry High School, Steven went on to attend Bevill State Community College - both Walker College and Sumiton campuses. He received his Bachelor of Science degree (summa cum laude) in Management and Communications from Southern Christian University. He then went on to continue his studies in graduate school earning both a Master of Science in Workforce Development from Mississippi State University and a Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law. 

Steven has a diverse background as both a blue-collar laborer and white-collar professional. He has a variety of experiences in construction, education training, managment and small business. His most notable experiences have been in the area of independent pharmacy and small business ventures. He has worked with business partner Ken Glover since the late 90's. 

Commissioner Aderholt was elected to the Walker County Commission in 2012 to represent the citizens of District 4, which include: Argo, Boldo, Copeland Ferry, Dora, Empire, Pineywoods, Quinton, Sipsey, and Sumiton. District 4 covers 225 miles of roadway and borders Cullman, Blount, Jefferson and Tuscaloosa counties. 

His philosophy on county government is simple... "Government should manage money the same as businesses and households. You can't spend more than you make. I work everyday to manage the money for our county and District 4 in such a way that benefits the most amount of people, regardless of what part of the county or my district you are from."
